This Sharing Is So Uncaring
On the countertop
this lone picked at pickle rests
uncovered. Puzzling.
Back in the day (when I was young I’m not a kid anymore but some days I sit and wish I was a kid again …) I had this other blog. It was my ventilation system in the course of a workday; my self-imposed morale boost; my testimony to the powers of humor and observation. It was also, apparently, a source of high amusement, relief and/or fellowship for a few of you. It was born out of my love for haiku, and at its best served as the finest vehicle for giving you a glimpse of my day-to-day reality … one snapshot + one haiku.
One day last March I thought Workin’ 5|7|5 had reached its end. The Lawd-Jesus-what-the-hell-is-going-on that was my previous position had sufficiently unhinged itself and my weekends suddenly became week-long. That last post was, in my opinion, the perfect amalgamation of mischief and verve … and raw, unbridled truth.
I am not always the voice of reason, but I am ever ready to tell it like it is.
It’s in the spirit of mischief and verve that I’ve decided to resurrect Workin’ 5|7|5 here. I’ve been struggling with ideas that would inspire me to post frequently (an ever-elusive goal), and as those that know me well understand, brevity is not one of my natural gifts. So, enter the haiku.

Dog days not over.
The corporate cray-cray lives
and so I endure.
